3 nights / 4 day adventure
Female only group
A perfect introduction to the Black Mountains!
This hike offers a steady climb to the summit of Ysgyryd Fawr, with incredible views across the surrounding countryside. The combination of forest trails and open ridges makes for a rewarding and enjoyable start to the weekend.
Afterwards, we’ll check into our accommodation, where you can relax and settle in before heading out for dinner at a local pub. A perfect way to unwind and get to know your fellow adventurers after a day on the hills.
This longer hike features a mix of terrain, starting at Llangorse Lake, the largest natural lake in Wales. The route includes open rural areas and a steady ascent of Mynnyd Llangorse, which rewards with breathtaking views. This is the most challenging day of the trip, requiring stamina for the elevation and distance.
Lunch will be enjoyed on the go, and in the evening, we’ll regroup for a relaxed dinner in a nearby town.
This is a demanding hike with challenging climbs and varied terrain. The trail takes us through peaceful woodlands, ascends Crug Mawr, and ventures into the tranquil beauty of Mynnyd Ddu Forest and Gyrwyne Fawr. It’s a rewarding day for those who enjoy a mix of technical terrain and stunning views.
In the evening, we’ll gather for a well-earned dinner for our final night in the local area
Monday – Y Fal (Sugar Loaf Mountain)
We’ll round off the weekend with a shorter but still rewarding hike up Sugar Loaf Mountain. This iconic peak offers a moderate climb and spectacular panoramic views, providing a fantastic sense of accomplishment to the end of the trip.
After the hike, we’ll say our goodbyes and begin the journey home, taking with us the memories of an unforgettable weekend.
We’ll be staying at the Living Energy Barns, a recently refurbished, charming, and well-equipped space that offers sole use of the barn accommodation and kitchen for our group.
Nestled in a peaceful location, the property boasts amazing views of the surrounding countryside, making it a perfect retreat after each day’s adventure.
