Pembrokeshire 2nd - 5th May

Welcome everyone to the Pembrokeshire Trip!


Hope you are looking forward to four days of hiking, fresh air and adventure in stunning Pembrokeshire!


This trip pack has everything you need to know - What to bring, where to meet and what to expect. Any questions, please ask them in the trip WhatsApp group.

Female only group 

Itinerary

Friday - Manorbier Castle and Lydstep Point

Kick off the trip with a picturesque circular hike combining history and dramatic coastal views. Starting at the historic Manorbier Castle, we follow the Pembrokeshire Coast Path to the rugged cliffs of Lydstep Point. Take in breathtaking coastal scenery and the chance to spot wildlife before looping back through rolling countryside to Manorbier.


• Distance: 11 km | Elevation Gain: 348 m 

• Time: 3.5–4 hours | Pace: Medium (4 km/hr) 

• Hike Rating: Moderate


Afterwards, we’ll check into our accommodation, where you can relax and settle in before heading out for dinner at a local pub. A perfect way to unwind and get to know your fellow adventurers after a days hiking. 

Saturday - Angle Peninsula Hike

We will explore the rugged beauty of the Angle Peninsula on this rewarding 16.5 km circular hike. Starting near Freshwater West’s golden sands before joining the dramatic Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Highlights include hidden coves, stunning cliff views, and the historic village of Angle.


  • Distance: 16.5 km | Elevation Gain: 480 m 
  • Time: 5.5–6.5 hours | Pace: Medium (4 km/hr) 
  • Hike Rating:  Challenging


Lunch will be enjoyed on the go, and in the evening, we’ll regroup for a relaxed dinner the nearby area.

Sunday - Paddle boarding & Surfing

Spend the day enjoying Pembrokeshire’s crystal-clear waters:  


  • Morning: A 2-hour paddleboarding tour at Stackpole, exploring serene coastline and hidden caves. Suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced paddleboarders. 
  • Afternoon: Learn to surf with expert instructors at Freshwater Bay. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer, enjoy a fun, active session in one of the UK’s best surfing spots.


In the evening, we’ll gather for a well-earned dinner for our final night in the local area.

Monday - Bosherston Lily Ponds, Stackpole & Barafundle Bay

We will conclude our adventure with a stunning circular walk featuring Pembrokeshire’s iconic landscapes. Wander through the tranquil Bosherston Lily Ponds, stroll along Broad Haven South’s sandy beach, and follow the Coast Path to Barafundle Bay, one of the UK’s most picturesque beaches. The return route meanders through wooded valleys and countryside, offering a perfect balance of challenge and reward.

  • Time: 5 hours | Pace: Medium 
  • Hike Rating: Moderate


After the hike, we’ll say our goodbyes and begin the journey home, taking with us the memories of an unforgettable weekend. 

Accommodation

 Our group will enjoy exclusive use of a cosy surf lodge, at Gupton Farm Campsite, surrounded by 800 acres of working farmland and just a short walk from Freshwater west, one of Wales’ most renowned beaches.


Facilities include: 

  • Twin share rooms with single beds 
  • Well-equipped kitchen and dining room 
  • Private garden with BBQ 
  • Laundry facilities available 
  • Limited parking available (3 cars) (lift shares encouraged) Additional Parking 100 meters from accommodation. 
  • No Wi-Fi in the accomodatoin  (Wi-Fi available nearby) 
  • Please bring: Your own bedding and towels. (pillow, pillow protector and mattress protector provided)

Thank you all for your deposit, the remaining balance is due by 28th March.

  • Transportation - Where a drive is required to the start of a walk, participants typically arrange car shares amongst themselves.

Kit List

For Hiking:

  • Hiking boots
  • Hiking socks
  • Base layer/ Tshirts (dry wicking/ not cotton)
  • Lightweight fleece top
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Waterproof trousers
  • Gloves / hat (even if it is warm!)
  • Rucksack
  • Water bottle (2 litres)
  • High calorie snacks
  • Lunches 
  • Head Torch (plus some spare batteries!)
  • Survival Bag & Whistle
  • Small personal first aid kit (Blister Plasters / personal medication as minimum)
  • Walking Poles (Optional but recommended for uneven ground)


All of the above items are required unless stated as optional


For the Water Activities


  • Swimsuit/ 2 piece to wear under your wetsuit (Wetsuit provided)
  • Rash top / Gym top to wear under your wetsuit (optional)
  • Water shoes / Trainers - that will get wet
  • Towel
  • Change of clothes



Rest of Trip


  • Cash - Some places / parking machines in this area do not accept cards
  • Bedding - you will need to bring a pillow case / duvet / duvet cover (or sleeping bag) 
  • Please bring what you need for the evening/ sleep & toiletries/ personal medication.
  • Please bring a towel

Breakfasts 

Please bring food with you for Breakfasts, we have access to the kitchen for making our own food. 


Lunches 

Please eat lunch before the first walk on Friday.

Sat - Mon - Lunches can be prepared in the self catering kitchen.

The location is fairly remote and you will need to drive to a shop to get any extra food.


Dinners 

Will be eating out in local restaurants /Pubs or maybe a takeaway. We will do our best to cater for all dietary requirements. 

If you prefer not to join us for dinner, you are welcome to use the self-catering kitchen.

Guides: 

Our Walks are led by a qualified walking leader with Mountain Training UK and Outdoor First Aider. Our instructors for the Surf and Paddleboarding are all fully qualified ISA surf and stand-up paddle boarding coaches and SLSGB Beach Lifeguards.


Weather: 

We love the sun but if it is having a day off please be aware activities will still go ahead in the rain. However if conditions are unsafe, hikes are subject to change.


Hiking: 

Hikes on this trip are moderate - challenging, suitable for those comfortable walking 10-17 km with some elevation gain. The terrain varies from well-trodden paths to rocky coastal trails. You should be prepared for some short ascents and descents and uneven ground. You must be physically fit & well. You are responsible for your own health & safety and must be well enough to hike for 7+ hours.
