2 nights / 3-day adventure
Female only group

We’ll spend two relaxed days paddleboarding along the calm rivers of the Norfolk Broads, with routes chosen on the day to suit the weather, water conditions and the group.
Possible paddling areas include sections of the River Bure and surrounding waterways near Lingwood, Upton and Acle.
Expect classic Broads landscapes — winding rivers, reedbeds, grazing marshes and big open skies. Each day’s paddle will typically be out-and-back, allowing us to travel at a comfortable pace and simply turn around whenever it feels right.
There will be plenty of opportunities to stop, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Weather & Alternative Plans
As this is an outdoor adventure, all activities are weather dependent. If conditions are not suitable or safe for paddleboarding, we will arrange alternative activities for the day wherever possible.
This may include a guided walk or hike in the local area.
Please ensure you bring suitable walking clothing and footwear, including comfortable hiking shoes or boots, waterproofs, and layers, so you can fully enjoy any alternative activities if required.

Please bring food with you for breakfasts, lunches, and plenty of snacks for the trip.
There is a small local Co-op shop nearby (around a 10-minute drive) if you need any top ups.
Evening meals will either be booked at a local restaurant or we may opt for a takeaway on some evenings.
A self-catering kitchen is available if you’d prefer to cook your own meals.
Tea, coffee, (instant) and milk (cow & oat) will be provided.

Our paddling sessions are led by a qualified Paddle UK Paddlesport Leader and Outdoor First Aider.
We love sunny days on the water, but please be aware that activities will still go ahead in rain.
Safety is always our priority. If conditions are considered unsafe for paddle boarding, activities may need to be modified, relocated, postponed, or replaced with alternative activities. Unsafe conditions may include strong winds, thunderstorms, lightning, poor visibility, flooding, or other weather conditions that could affect safety on the water.
If paddle boarding is not possible, we will do our best to arrange alternative activities for the day. This may include a guided walk, local sightseeing, or other suitable outdoor activities. Please ensure you bring suitable walking clothing, waterproofs, and comfortable walking shoes or boots so you are prepared for any alternative plans.
The Norfolk Broads offer some of the most beautiful and accessible paddle boarding in the UK, with generally calm and sheltered waterways.
During the weekend we may paddle on rivers, broads, and connected waterways. Conditions can vary depending on weather, boat traffic, water levels, and tides. Participants should expect a mixture of open water crossings, narrow channels, riverside sections, and longer paddling journeys between destinations.
Although the water is generally sheltered, participants should be comfortable paddling for several hours with regular breaks and be prepared for wind, rain, sunshine, and changing conditions throughout the weekend.
This trip is suitable for women who have paddle boarded before and feel comfortable paddling independently on sheltered water.
Participants should be reasonably active and capable of paddling for several hours during the day, with breaks for refreshments, lunch, and sightseeing. A basic level of paddle boarding competence and confidence is required.
It is your responsibility to ensure you book a trip that matches your current fitness level, experience, and ability. If, at any point, the activity leader has concerns about your ability to participate safely, you may be asked not to join part or all of an activity. This decision is never taken lightly and is made in the interest of the safety and wellbeing of both the individual and the group.
Outdoor activities involve inherent risks which cannot be completely eliminated. During guided activities, leaders take all reasonable steps to manage risks and operate safely. However, participants remain responsible for their own actions, decisions, and personal safety at all times.
Please complete the sign up form at least 7 days before the start of the trip:

When completing your form, please let us know about any injuries, medical conditions, allergies, illnesses, or additional needs that may help us support you safely during the weekend. This information is used solely to help us plan appropriately and ensure we can provide the best possible experience for everyone.
Time spent at the accommodation—including use of kitchens, appliances, outdoor areas, and other facilities—is considered free time and is not a supervised or guided activity.
Participants are responsible for their own safety and actions while at the property. Adventure Women UK and its leaders are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from personal time or the use of accommodation facilities.
Guests should follow any guidance or rules provided by the property.

Adventure Women UK trips are all about shared experiences — paddling, walking, laughing, and adventuring together in a supportive and welcoming environment. To make sure everyone feels comfortable and included, please keep the following in mind throughout the trip:
Be Kind & Inclusive:
Treat everyone with respect, kindness, and patience. We’re all here for the same reason — to enjoy the outdoors and connect with like-minded women. Please help create a friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Respect Space & Cleanliness:
Be mindful of shared spaces — whether that’s bunkhouse kitchens, bathrooms, or common areas. Keep your gear tidy, clean up after yourself, and be considerate of others’ need for quiet time or rest.
Be Considerate & Encouraging:
We all come with different experiences, comfort levels, and strengths. A positive attitude and consideration for others help create a relaxed and enjoyable group dynamic. Support goes both ways — everyone contributes to making the trip a great experience for the whole group.
Follow Safety Guidance:
Please follow your leader’s instructions at all times and stay within the planned route. If you notice anything unsafe or feel unwell, let a leader know straight away. The use of alcohol or anything that could impair judgement during activities is not permitted.
Environment & Community:
We follow Leave No Trace principles — take all litter home, respect wildlife, and stick to paths where possible. We’re guests in the landscapes and communities we visit, so please be polite, responsible, and respectful towards local people and places.
Confidentiality & Privacy:
What’s shared within the group stays within the group. Respect personal boundaries, and never share others’ stories or photos without permission.
By joining this trip, you’re agreeing to uphold the Adventure Women UK ethos — one of kindness, inclusion, responsibility, and adventure with integrity.

We kindly ask everyone to treat the accommodation with respect throughout the trip.
Participants are responsible for any damage or loss caused to the property, its contents, or facilities during their stay. Any breakages or damage must be reported as soon as possible. Where damage is attributable to an individual, the cost of repair or replacement may be charged to that participant.
Before departure, all guests are expected to leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition. This includes basic tasks such as washing up, removing personal belongings and rubbish, and leaving shared spaces as they were found. This is a light clean rather than a full deep clean, but helps ensure we meet the property’s checkout requirements.
Thank you for helping us look after the places we stay.
