3 nights / 4 day adventure
Female only group

Day 1 – Stanage Edge & High Neb 7.1 km | 243 m ascent | ~3 hrs | Grade 2 – Moderate Meet: 12:15 PM
We’ll kick off our Peak District adventure with one of the National Park’s most iconic landscapes – the magnificent Stanage Edge. Our afternoon circuit climbs onto the famous gritstone escarpment before following Stanage Edge towards High Neb, the highest point along the edge. With dramatic rock formations and huge views across the surrounding moors, it’s a fantastic introduction to the weekend.
Afterwards, we’ll check into our accommodation, where you can relax and settle in or explore Castleton before heading out for dinner at a local pub. A perfect way to unwind and get to know your fellow adventurers after a day on the hills.

Day 2 – Mam Tor, Lose Hill & the Great Ridge
16.1 km | 666 m ascent | ~6–6.5 hrs | Grade 3 – Challenging
Our biggest day of the trip takes us straight from Castleton into some of the Peak District’s most celebrated hill country. We’ll climb onto the high ground around Mam Tor before following the spectacular Great Ridge towards Lose Hill, with panoramic views across the Hope Valley and Edale. With over 650 metres of ascent, sustained hill walking and exposed sections of ridge, this is a rewarding full day and one of the highlights of the weekend.
Lunch will be enjoyed on the go, and in the evening, we’ll regroup for a relaxed dinner in a nearby town.

Day 3 – Derwent Edge & Reservoirs
15.2 km | 506 m ascent | ~5.5–6 hrs | Grade 3 – Challenging
A wonderfully wild day exploring the moorland high above the Upper Derwent Valley. We’ll climb away from the reservoirs onto Derwent Edge, passing distinctive gritstone formations and enjoying far-reaching views across the Dark Peak. Our circuit continues across open moorland before descending back towards the reservoirs.
Expect rocky paths, open hillsides and big landscapes on a route that showcases the wilder side of the Peak District.
In the evening, we’ll gather for a well-earned dinner for our final night in the local area.

10.1 km | 380 m ascent | ~4 hrs | Grade 2.5 – Moderate–Challenging
Our final adventure takes us onto Win Hill, rising prominently above the Hope Valley and Ladybower Reservoir. There’s a rewarding climb to the summit, where we’ll be treated to fantastic views across Ladybower, the Hope Valley and the surrounding hills.
We’ll descend back into the valley with plenty of time for everyone to begin their journeys home.
Planned finished time 1.30/2pm

If you prefer not to join us for dinner, you are welcome to use the self-catering kitchen or purchase a meal from the on-site restaurant.
Please bring plenty of snacks for our days on the hills.
Hill days use a lot of energy, so aim for a mixture of foods that will provide both readily available and longer-lasting fuel rather than relying entirely on sweets or sugary snacks.
Good options include:
Carbohydrates are particularly important for fuelling prolonged physical activity. Foods such as oats, bread, crackers, fruit and cereal bars are useful sources of carbohydrate, while nuts, seeds and nut butters provide additional energy, fats and some protein.
Sugary foods such as sweets, chocolate or energy gels can be useful when you need quick energy, particularly during a strenuous section or if you feel your energy dropping. They are absolutely fine to bring – just try not to make them your only source of fuel for the day.
The most important thing is to bring enough food and eat regularly throughout the day, rather than waiting until you are very hungry or your energy levels have already dropped.
Water & Hydration
Please bring sufficient water for each day's activity and remember to drink regularly throughout the walk.
The amount you need will depend on the weather, temperature and length of the day.
You may also wish to bring an electrolyte drink or tablet for the longer hill days.
Please don't deliberately restrict food or water on the hiking days. Our priority is for everyone to remain well fuelled, hydrated and able to maintain their energy, concentration and enjoyment throughout the walk.
Please Note: Food and drink is not included.

Guides:
Our Walks are led by a qualified walking leader with Mountain Training UK and Outdoor First Aider.
Weather:
We love the sun but if it is having a day off please be aware activities will still go ahead in the rain. However if conditions are unsafe, activities are subject to be changed or cancelled for safety reasons. If we do have to cancel an activity, we'll do our best to arrange an alternative plan for the day. Unsafe weather can include heavy rain, strong wind, snow, thunder & lightning for example.
Terrain:
Hikes on this trip are Moderate to Challenging - suitable for those comfortable walking up to 18km with 700m elevation and 7+ hrs walking.
The terrain will vary throughout the weekend and includes rocky paths, hill and moorland, steep ascents and descents, uneven paths, farmland tracks, sections through woodland and paths alongside or near to water. Paths can be narrow, steep, muddy, boggy or exposed. Good fitness, sure-footedness, and appropriate footwear are essential, along with confidence on uneven and occasionally steep terrain.
You must be physically fit, well and capable of sustained walking. You are responsible for your own health & Safety and should be confident hiking for several hours in variable conditions.
Sign Up Form:
Please complete the below sign up form at least 7 days before the start of the trip
https://form.jotform.com/201554976381058
When completing your form, please let us know if you have any injuries, illnesses, or additional needs that could help us plan and manage the walk safely. This is not about excluding anyone - it's so we can be aware, prepared and carry any additional kit if needed to support you on the day.
Activities, Fitness & Personal Responsibility:
It is your responsibility to ensure you book a trip that matches your current fitness level and experience. Our walks and activities are graded to help guide your choice, but please read the full trip description carefully and consider the distance, elevation, terrain, pace, and any specific requirements.
If, at any point, the activity leader has concerns about your ability to complete a walk within the required time or at a suitable pace—or feels you may not be able to take part safely—you may be asked not to join the activity. This decision is never taken lightly and is made in the interest of the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of the whole group.
Some walks and activities take place in remote or exposed areas, where options to shorten or leave early may be limited. Fatigue, weather conditions, or lack of preparation can present real risks, particularly on multi-day trips.
Outdoor activities carry an element of inherent risk, which cannot be completely eliminated. During guided activities, leaders take all reasonable care to manage the group safely. However, participants remain responsible for their own actions, decisions, and personal safety at all times.
Accommodation & Free Time:
Time spent at the accommodation—including use of kitchens, appliances, outdoor areas, leisure facilities and any other facilities—as well as any time outside of organised activities is considered free time and is not part of the guided programme.
During this time, participants are responsible for their own safety and actions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Adventure Women UK and its leaders are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from personal time or activities undertaken outside of the organised programme.
Participants should follow any guidance or rules provided by the accommodation, local authorities, or relevant signage, and use all facilities and environments sensibly and at their own risk.

Adventure Women UK trips are all about shared experiences — walking, laughing, and adventuring together in a supportive and welcoming environment. To make sure everyone feels comfortable and included, please keep the following in mind throughout the trip:
Be Kind & Inclusive:
Treat everyone with respect, kindness, and patience. We’re all here for the same reason — to enjoy the outdoors and connect with like-minded women. Please help create a friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Respect Space & Cleanliness:
Be mindful of shared spaces — whether that’s bunkhouse kitchens, bathrooms, or common areas. Keep your gear tidy, clean up after yourself, and be considerate of others’ need for quiet time or rest.
Be Considerate & Encouraging:
We all come with different experiences, comfort levels, and strengths. A positive attitude and consideration for others help create a relaxed and enjoyable group dynamic. Support goes both ways — everyone contributes to making the trip a great experience for the whole group.
Follow Safety Guidance:
Please follow your leader’s instructions at all times and stay within the planned route. If you notice anything unsafe or feel unwell, let a leader know straight away. The use of alcohol or anything that could impair judgement during activities is not permitted.
Environment & Community:
We follow Leave No Trace principles — take all litter home, respect wildlife, and stick to paths where possible. We’re guests in the landscapes and communities we visit, so please be polite, responsible, and respectful towards local people and places.
Confidentiality & Privacy:
What’s shared within the group stays within the group. Respect personal boundaries, and never share others’ stories or photos without permission.
By joining this trip, you’re agreeing to uphold the Adventure Women UK ethos — one of
kindness, inclusion, responsibility, and adventure with integrity.

We kindly ask everyone to treat the accommodation with respect throughout the trip.
Participants are responsible for any damage or loss caused to the property, its contents, or facilities during their stay. Any breakages or damage must be reported as soon as possible. Where damage is attributable to an individual, the cost of repair or replacement may be charged to that participant.
Before departure, all guests are expected to leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition. This includes basic tasks such as stripping beds, washing up, removing personal belongings and rubbish, and leaving shared spaces as they were found. This is a light clean rather than a full deep clean, but helps ensure we meet the property’s checkout requirements.
Thank you for helping us look after the places we stay.

Please note: By booking this trip, you agree to our Terms & Conditions. Ts&Cs
