Itinerary
Arrive: Friday afternoon - Depart: Monday late afternoon
Friday
Walk 1 - Long Mynd
We will head straight out for our first hike of the Long Mynd, also known as little Switzerland.
The Long Mynd is a heath and moorland plateau that forms part of the Shropshire Hills.
- Distance: 11km
- Time: 4-5hrs
- Ascent: 480 meters
- Medium
After the hike we will head to Bridgnorth and check into our accommodation
Evening we will head out for dinner locally.
Saturday
Walk 2 - Stiperstones
A walk across the Stiperstones ridge in Shropshire explores a rocky and spectacular landscape that’s steeped in myth and legend. We will be following the path to Devils Chair. The landscape of this walk is a great contrast to Long Mynd

- Time: 5hrs
- Ascent: 450 meters
- Medium / hard (Steep uneven ground in places)

Sunday
Walk 3 - Caer Caradoc
This summit of Caer Caradoc and the Lawley offers spectacular views over the town and the Shropshire countryside. The summit also includes the remains of an ancient hillfort, associated with the legendary first century AD Welsh chieftain Caractacus. (Option to join this walk and do a slightly shorter route of 11km, reducing ascent to 500 meters)

- Ascent: 830 meters

Monday
Walk 4 - Burwarton, Brown Clee Hill & Clee Burf
Our final walk takes us to the highest point on Shropshire on paths used predating the Iron Age, past remains of Iron Age forts, sunken lanes and hidden hamlets. The top of brown Clee hill is wild moorland with great views of the westerly Shropshire peaks.

- Ascent: 450 meters

After the walk we will say our good byes before heading home.
National Trust Bunkhouse Cottage booked solely for the group, the building is a converted barn, situated on the Dudmaston Estate.
Basic rooms with bunkbeds and shared bathrooms. Bedrooms are 2 persons per room.
There are a couple of rooms available for single use for an additional supplement of £60. If you would like a room to yourself please message and confirm with me.
The accommodation is simple and includes a kitchen and outdoor space,with pubs & restaurants in nearby town.
Thank you all for your deposit of £75, the remaining balance of £153 is due by 8th of October (Total £228)

Please bring food and drink with you for breakfast & lunches, plenty of snacks
The accommodation has a self catering kitchen where we can store food.
Dinners will be booked in local restaurants /Pubs or maybe a takeaway. We will do our best to cater for all dietary requirements.
Driving & liftshares:
On our trips we aim to minimise the number of cars used each day for driving to the start of the walks or meals by encouraging car sharing.
If you are able to provide lifts to help with this, it is greatly appreciated. We will aim to rotate drivers to ensure the responsibility is shared.

Zoom Call
In the week before the trip we will be hosting a Zoom call on the Tuesday at 6.30pm for you to ask any last minute questions. This is completely optional to attend. Details will be shared nearer the time.
Guides:
Our Walks are led by qualified walking leaders with Mountain Training UK and Outdoor First Aiders.
Weather:
We love the sun but if it is having a day off please be aware activities will still go ahead in the rain. However if conditions are unsafe, hikes are subject to change.
Hiking:
Hikes on this trip are medium difficulty with some steep inclines and uneven ground.
You must be physically fit & well. You are responsible for your own health & safety and must be well enough to hike for 7+ hours.
